Hi people.

Due to almost 100% of applications to the forum being from folks in Russia or China trying to sell viagra, I have decided to close the automated sign up feature.

Of course, any bone fide member of the club is welcome to join the forum. Just drop me (webmaster) a line via the Contact Page telling me roughly what you fly, and roughly where you live. Seeing a genuine application, I'll set you an account up s soon as I can!

Thanks for your patience Smiley

Steve

I won one of these from Ian at Penn models when I was buying a lot of Lipos. A nice bit of apparel for any electric flyer!

It's a nice black polo shirt, with flightpower logo stitched on the front and back. Only tried it on once, as it is only just big enough for me. I nomally wear XL stuff, so it will easily fit anyone of average or slimmer stature.

PM me for collection details.

Steve

It's all down to what you are comfortable with, i fly mode 1
that is throttle/aileron right, elevator/rudder left .

Welcome to the forums!

In a word... mode 2 or mode 1 are what is generally used in the UK for fixed wing... Now, with modern transmitters you can get away with buddying up with someone who flies a different mode (I've successfully done this with Spektrum kit), but as you can only readily obtain mode 1 and mode 2 trannies in the UK, then that is what you need to look at adjusting your brain to, before it's too late!

There are many and boring arguments for which mode is better, but I think it really just boils down to whatever your brain prefers.

I fly mode 2, which is throttle/rudder left, and aileron/elevator right... I prefer this, as it is closer to the way it is in a full sized aircraft.

I don't know much about RC flight so excuse my ignorance ...

At the moment I'm just practising with a simulator (Aerofly) but I was wondering which mode it was "normal" to set a transmitter to ? Currently my USB "transmitter" is set to "mode 4"(?) where I have elevator and rudder on the right stick, and throttle and a aileron on the left. I'm concerned about practising with my simulator only to find, should I ever use a  "buddy box" system, that my stick set-up may be nonstandard.   Huh?
